Ok folks – here is the unflattering “before” shot.

Droopy, droopy, droopy. With a wave of my wand……
Presto!

Ah, that’s better. All in all, I’m rather pleased with it. I was, at the start of the project, hoping for something that was actually more “tote bag” size, but quickly realized that it would felt up smaller than anticipated. And it did, but I saw it coming. The yellow flower was an afterthought. I’m on a big blue-red-yellow kick lately. (um, like in Isadora’s purse)
Voila!

looks great Mary Jo ! So what size did it end up? Did you make the pin? You are a machine rite now ! I can’t believe that everytime I check in you have a new post with another great project, start to finish. Is there a great second hand store in your new town that is lighting your fire?!?!?!
Can’t wait to visit & see where you’ve put everything. Cao

Thanks Lily! It’s about 8×10x4 inches deep. Not a grocery tote, but a fabulous hand-sewing-works-in-progress or even a knitting-in-progress bag.
yep. Made the flower, which is sewn on to the bag. I’ve had horrible luck with pins falling off, so I thought I’d commit from the start and just sew the darn thing on. And I’ve been itching to do lots more hand sewing, too, so it was satisfying.
There’s an average, small-town Goodwill nearby. And some others too – some St. Vinnie’s etc. that I can never manage to get to when open. Mostly, though, I think I’ve just been ON FIRE! Like, really, must make lots of things or I’ll just bust! Lots of pent-up creative energy bursting forth now. Thank God! I think this is my most prolific period ever.

I have to think it’s that spring energy but PLUS you just freed up a huge part of your brain by putting re-new on hold for a while. All of a sudden you can create for fun and not for $$$, that’s a freeing place to be. I too have been in a hurry hurry make make phase, feels good to actually use the materials that I have been collecting for 10 years.
